when my friend and i were in new york a few summers ago we sat in central park and made chains of flowers like this. a woman came up to us and asked what we were doing and when we told her she looked at us confused. she asked us where we had learned to make them and we told her that it was something that everyone learned in elementary school. “you must not be from new york” was her response.
